^h English (en)	For all these reasons, among CSOs working with material on human rights violations, there is a concrete and growing need for information and resources on digital archiving—including a manual such as this one. On the one hand, digital archiving of such material is quickly becoming a necessity for these organizations. On the other hand, CSOs often lack the necessary knowledge and skills for the creation and development of digital archives and would, therefore, benefit from a resource that provides structured guidance through the process and an overview of challenges, tips, and best practices. While there are already very good Manuals available dealing with different aspects of physical archiving, there is no systematized yet practice-based and practice-oriented guide for CSOs addressing the entire digital archiving process.
^h Spanish (es)	Por todas estas razones, entre las OSC que trabajan con material sobre violaciones de derechos humanos, existe una necesidad concreta y creciente de información y recursos sobre archivo digital, incluido un manual como este. Por un lado, el archivo digital de dicho material se está convirtiendo rápidamente en una necesidad para estas organizaciones. ^h French (fr)	Pour toutes ces raisons, les OSC qui travaillent avec du matériel sur les violations des droits de l’homme ont un besoin concret et croissant d’informations et de ressources sur l’archivage numérique, y compris un manuel tel que celui-ci. D’une part, l’archivage numérique de ce matériel devient rapidement une nécessité pour ces organisations. D’autre part, les OSC manquent souvent de connaissance et de compétences nécessaires à la création et au développement d’archives numériques et ont besoin de ressources qui leur fourniraient une aide structurée tout au long du processus, ainsi qu’un aperçu des défis, des conseils et des meilleures pratiques. Alors qu’il existe déjà d’excellents manuels traitant des différents aspects de l’archivage physique, il n’existe pas de guide méthodique et pratique destiné aux OSC et traitant de l’ensemble du processus d’archivage numérique.
