Message definition (Digitization, Preservation and Ingest)

However, we should not imagine that we can just click a button, go have a tea, and return to see all our data, metadata, and data documentation ingested and properly connected to each other. Rather, the ingest process will need to be performed in parts by transferring material per group over a period of time. In the process, we will also likely encounter errors, discover incorrect specifications in a system, or similar that will need to be addressed, and the system will need to be fine-tuned and the ingest repeated.

Sin embargo, no debemos imaginar que podemos simplemente hacer clic en un botón, ir a tomar un té y regresar para ver todos nuestros datos, metadatos y documentación de datos ingresados y bien vinculados entre sí. Más bien, el proceso de ingreso deberá realizarse en partes, mediante la transferencia de material por grupos durante un período de tiempo. En el proceso, es probable que encontremos errores, descubramos especificaciones incorrectas en un sistema u otros problemas similares que deberán ser abordados para luego ajustar el sistema y repetir el ingreso.
